Expressive Portrait

Not only does this piece demonstrate my technical abilities through in the medium (colored pencil) and in color theory, but I see it as an ode to my love for using colors representationally. The subject of the piece is a very good friend of mine, who I can only describe as a ray of literal sunshine. The photo which I referenced for this piece is a perfect portrayal of her personality, and I think I perfectly captured the joyous expression in it which she wears so often, along with showing the energy which she exudes via the vibrant and playful color combination.
