During my junior year of high school, I took AP (Advanced Placement) Art & Design for 2D work. The course focuses on the principles and properties of 2D Design while requiring students to decide on a 'Sustained Investigation,' in other words a topic for their fifteen-piece portfolio. The focus of my portfolio was burnout and how it affects one's daily life. As an individual with mental and learning disabilities who doesn't fit into the standard educational format, I've had an extensive amount of personal experience and trauma with burnout. Burnout being a lack of motivation to do things, or receiving a lack of joy while doing things. My investigation centered around how this affects not only our work, but our day to day lives.
